Parents Information Evening

Just a reminder to everyone that the parents information evening will be on next Tuesday (26th) at 7.30pm. Myself and Becky will give all the Junior Infant Parents an idea of what the year ahead will look like, and we'll answer any questions you may have. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Note in schoolbag today

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We have now finished our first full week of Junior Infants, and what a great week it has been! We are pleased to say that the children have all settled in very well, are getting used to their new routine and are making lots of new friends.

As part of the Junior Infants S.E.S.E. (History, Geography, Science) and S.P.H.E. (Social, Personal and Health Education) curriculums, we will be covering the themes of Myself and My Family. Although official homework won’t start for another two weeks, we have a little project we would like you to complete with your child this week. In your child’s schoolbag is a ‘History of Me’ worksheet. We would be very grateful if you could sit down with your child this week for 15 minutes and discuss the questions with them. Jot down the answers and your child can help draw some of the pictures!

Also, we would appreciate if each child could bring in a photograph of themselves as a baby and as a toddler.

If they could have all of this in their schoolbags by next Monday 18th September, that would be great.

If, at any stage you need to contact the Junior Infant teachers, our emails are as follows:
Please check the class blogs on the school website for updates!

Many thanks for your help,

Becky and Julie

Welcome!

Welcome everyone to Julie’s Junior Infants Class Blog!

Here you will find information on homework, topics we are learning about in class, photographs of various class activities as well as some tips on ways to help your child during their first year of school. The blog will be updated often so check in regularly and please feel free to leave a comment. If you have any questions do not hesitate to email me on belmayneetjulie@gmail.com

The children are settling in really well and everyone is trying their very best in class. What a brilliant start to the year! They're a lovely bunch of children.

The first few weeks are all about settling in and getting to know the school routine and their new classmates! We have been learning all about the Golden Rules and class rules (practicing lining up, good sitting and listening, as well as playing together and sharing). It's going to be a wonderful year.

Looking forward to the year ahead, as well as getting to know you all. Thanks for reading!

Julie :)
